This project is open and free to reuse. Different parts carry different licenses, each chosen to fit what it is.

Software

The source code that computes the data and runs this site.

• License: GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPL-2.0-or-later)
• Use, study, modify, and redistribute it freely; derivative software must stay under the GPL.
• Compatible with GAP — the computer-algebra system used here as a reference — which is itself GPL.

Written content

These pages: explanations, guides, and examples.

• License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0)
• Reuse freely, including commercially, with credit to this site; share any adaptations under the same license.

Group data

The computed facts about each group — orders, structure, character tables, subgroup relationships, and the rest.

• License: Creative Commons CC0 1.0 (public-domain dedication)
• Use it for anything, with no restrictions and no attribution required.

Mathematical facts are not owned by anyone, and CC0 clears any remaining database rights, so the data is unambiguously free to reuse anywhere.

A downloadable copy of the full dataset, as a single SQLite database file, is to be made available here.
